NAWIC National Association of Women In Construction is a competition I entered in 2015 Senior year of high school. The competition was simple which made it difficult as you could take it alot of different ways. You were to create a 5 bedroom residential that was completely ADA compliant as the couple had a paraplegic son. The house also had to acommidate their handicap van, as well as include an exercise room.
My solution is an open concept 2 car garage ranch where all the bedrooms are in one wing of the building. Making the building open concept allows easy access to anywhere in the house for a wheelchair. I also give the paraplegic son their own bathroom connected to their bedroom for easy use.
Placed First in Regional & Honorable Mention in Nationals
